DIY – washi tape garland

I’ve been working on some decorations for our new apartment. This is a garland made out of wash tape and black string. Super easy to make, and makes a whole lot of different to our dining area.

Start out with some equally sized bits of wash tape. Add them one by one on the string with the distance of your preference by folding over the tape to stick it to itself. Remember to make the first bits of tape double the length of the size you want the finished cross to be since your folding it.

When you have placed as many as you want for the desired length of the garland, start over and place new bits of washi tape as a cross, both front and back. This time you need two bits per cross to stick to each other on each side of the first tape. Continue until all of the strips of tape are done.

I chose to put it up with nails. By using several nails you can create geometric patterns with the garland! Making it a bit more interesting than just hanging it.
